This cover dates back to the NEUTRiNOS days, though we never played it live.
One day after discussing Shane Meadows' brilliant understanding of how to set a scene with musical cues in the 'This Is England' TV series, I just became obsessed with this song and the music video and everything about it, likely as a nostalgia thing because it seemed like it was absolutely, unequivocally everywhere when I was growing up, despite having come out two years before I was born. I played it all the time, no matter where I was, no matter who I was with, to a point where it probably started becoming a problem. One day, my coworkers and I played it like fifteen times in a row in the store and to this day, there's still a semi-regular who reacted to it poorly that we'll still play the song for.
As sort of an exercise for reconfiguring other people's songs to fit the KiSSiNG KONTEST sound, I started throwing together a cover of this one night and at one point, I was planning on releasing this on an EP that coincided with my anniversary with Icky Vicky, but then, as the release calendar became clearer, I thought it clashed with the theme of the EP I thought I'd be on by that date, so I set it aside to work on another cover that also ended up getting abandoned.
